My story began long before I was even born. From a young age,

I witnessed my mom suffer from the abuse she had endured as a child. At the time, I couldn’t put a name to her pain, but something in me knew she was hurting. Not everyone hears or heeds to their calling from an early age, but I knew I was here to heal and spent many of my formative years trying to take care of everyone around me.

While I was busy taking care of everyone else, I was stuck in my own spiral of pain. My mental, physical, and emotional health fell to the wayside. Filled with anger and spite, I fell into the alcoholic lifestyle I had so despised while growing up to numb the hate in my heart for both my mother and myself.

Acupressure couldn’t have come into my life at a better time.

Learning acupressure taught me how to deepen my connection with my body and really hear what it needs, which led me to heal and embrace a healthier lifestyle. Little by little, I began to choose me.

At 18 years old, I had become one of the youngest practicing acupressurists. After graduation, I began taking on clients while also working part-time at a local health food store.

One day,

when I was 20 years old, I was sitting in a warm bath trying to soothe my aching cramps after working all day at the store. Miserable.

But somewhere in that hour, trying to calm my ovaries, something shifted within me. I really leaned into that energy and my period became my best friend. Little did I know, that was the moment my Real Life would begin.

My period gave me the confidence I needed to quit my job and fully invest in my acupressure practice. I needed to create opportunities that would allow me to be truthful to my Self and my body. So, I did, and within the first 6 months of going full-time, I was named Fastest Growing Business by the British Columbia Acupressure Therapist Association (BCATA).

We don’t just carry the trauma of our lifetime but also the pain of those who came before us into our daily interactions and deeper relationships.

My period helped me heal the trinity of my birth, My Mother, My Self, and My Father. Through this work, I changed the direction of generational trauma in my family.

I’m just a woman. You can do it too, and you don’t have to do it alone.
