I don't care...

I don’t care about what you wear
Unless it’s your soul trying to glare.

I don’t care about the color of your hair
If you’re cool or not, rich or not and anything else in there.

My lens isn’t made up of pretty sparkles
Shaded in glitters + two-tone eye shadows.

My voice pretty much is the spokesperson for my heart
Most times I don’t feel like I can even contain this part.

It’s my life experiences that dug a well deep and wide
For the flow of love to outpour from inside.

I don’t care about your view.
I mean it matters, but not more than you do.

What is it about this great divide?
Human beings choosing sides?

Righteous opinion dictating our lives.

When science falls short
And religions have been tied…

Up in this web;
Mistrust and lies.

It’s not your fault, you’ve been mistreated
You’ve been skived.

You are meant to run and hide.
You are meant to be quiet, even shy.
You are meant to not even try.

But that’s not true to who you are, and what you see is a lie.

And not necessarily because of someone else’s doing, although I’m sure there are many bubbling views ensuing.

I dare say that mostly it’s because your view has been stagnant - caught up in what was once.

If you’ve read this fully, a spark has been ignited.

A glimmer from within you is excited for you to see, that you are nothing more than a spec and a seed.

And all things inside you want to break free.

Listening to our bodies, in a way, means putting ourselves first for at least a bit of time so we can make space TO LISTEN. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'd love to hear some ways you fiercely carve out time for yourself and listen to your body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

And if this post triggers you in frustration or anger, I invite you to take that as a sign that you have a story holding you back from taking these steps for your beautiful self. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I remember reading the Untethered Soul by Micheal Singer. In one part of the book, he talks about being in a cross-legged yoga position for hours when he had to get through the pain that was coming up. I won't get into the details here, but my inner self was like, "What the F&*#!" " I don't have time to sit in a cross-legged position for hours and feel into what they might bring up for me!"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I get it. I noticed my inner dialogue and took it as a cue, that it was something I needed to look at. Within moments, I could see that I could apply his message to the pain that was smacking me in the face. I didn't need to go far to find it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was knee-deep in full-time motherhood and I was reading the book to help me prepare for the near-future event of going into surgery. This surgery would remove part of my nose and reconstruction my nose created by my forehead. I was afraid.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And let me note, that after years of being a practitioner of this very work. That is, holding space for pain to transform, I still need reminders to do so lots of the time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I read lots of books, I surround myself with people who will remind me and that's why I began our women-only membership where we use acupressure points to presence ourselves to what's really going on. Then we move the energy so our week is set up powerfully. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
